Stage 1: Liberec - Ploučnice spring - Hamr na Jezeře (approx. 34 km)

The first stage starts in Liberec and leads through the dominant feature of the region - the Ještěd mountain and then around the source of the Ploučnice river near Osečná and ends in Česká Lípa.

Cyklotrail 15 starts at the crossroads Pláně on the slope of Ještěd. You can start your cycling in Liberec, which is an ideal starting point. On the route, you can climb up to the top of Ještěd. Then the route continues along the Horní Ploučnice spring and you can also turn off to the main source of the Ploučnice River just outside the town of Osečná.
The first stage will lead you further through the Podještědí countryside, mainly along secondary roads with low frequency of car traffic. Partly it is a cycle route along paved (mostly asphalt) forest roads.
